Dr Hwang was awarded the Maurice Kettle Price in Orthodontics even before she specialised in Orthodontics. She joined TP Dental Surgeons in 1989 and became the CEO in 2005, leading a team of more than 20 dental surgeons and specialists. She has been a Visiting Clinical Tutor at the Postgraduate Orthodontics Department, National University of Singapore since 1997, and was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2013. She was the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) Chairman of the Audit Committee from 2009-12, and also served on the Faculty of Dentistry Development Campaign Committee from 2012-16. She currently sits on the SDC Panel of Chairman of Disciplinary Committee, and is a member of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Committee in Orthodontics for College of Dental Surgeons Singapore. She was on the Academic Advisory Board for Invisalign.
