Synopsis

This course equips dental assistants with essential knowledge and hands-on skills to effectively support dentists during prosthodontic procedures. Participants will gain an understanding of impression materials, trays, denture and crown procedures, provisional restorations, luting cements, and laboratory coordination. Emphasis is placed on chairside assisting, material handling, infection control, and workflow efficiency in both removable and fixed prosthodontics.

The course will cover 6 subjects/modules as follows:

1. Introduction to Prosthodontics
2. Impression Materials & Trays
3. Removable Prosthodontics
4. Fixed Prosthodontics
5. Provisional Restorations
6. Luting Cements & Cementation Assisting

 

Students will be assessed on their theoretical knowledge.

Average teacher-student ratio: 1 : 20 (for lecture), 1 : 5 (for clinical supervision)
