Dental Assistant is an important part of dental management team. Students will be taught the important roles of a dental assistant such as being a team player, knowing their responsibilities and how to communicate effectively with patients.

Dental Charting is the method of recording the current conditions in the patient's mouth. Besides recording the numbers of teeth present or absent, it also records past treatment done. This forms the baseline record before the start of treatment, and the record of during the follow-up treatment; where it can be used to track the progress of patient's oral health. It can be a useful forensic tool in identifying a person.

Radiograph, basic pharmacology and emergency management are essential in the management of dental patients. There are different types of radiograph or x-rays are taken in dental clinic everyday. In this module student will learn about x-ray types and how to use it. Students will also be taught the common medications used in dentistry and how to manage emergency cases.

In this module, students are taught to differentiate the various forceps and elevators required to prepare for dental extraction. Students will set up the dental room and arrange the instruments in neat order. Role play and practical session in this module will also help students understand better.

This module will cover the most basic procedure performed in a dental clinic - scaling and polishing. Students will be taught to prepare instruments and material for the procedures, and how to position the suction instruments by practicing on each other.

This module will focus on the procedures in restoring a tooth to its original form and shape, by using different types of restorative (filling) materials in different cavity classifications (Cl I, II, III, IV, V and VI).
