This course equips participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills to support infection prevention and control in dental practice. The programme focuses on standard precautions, hand hygiene, PPE usage, asepsis, sterilization and disinfection procedures, sharps management, and environmental hygiene.
The course will cover 8 subjects/modules as follows:
1. Principles of Infection Control in Dentistry 2. Infectious Diseases & Routes of Transmission 3. Standard & Universal Precautions 4. Hand Hygiene 5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 6. Asepsis, Cleaning, Disinfection & Sterilization 7. Instrument, Waste & Environmental Management 8. Sharps Management & Occupational Safety
Average teacher-student ratio: 1 : 20 (for lecture).
After each module, students will be assessed on their theoretical knowledge.
