This module will focus on the aligner orthodontics type of treatment. Participants will learn the differences between physical impression taking and digital impression by intra-oral scanning. It will also cover the responsibility of the dental assistant in checking the filling up of laboratory order forms and the delivery and receipt of laboratory cases.

This module is cover the importance of the isolation of the tooth by rubber dam application. Participants will learn what are the instruments and materials required for the procedures and how the dental assistant could help the dentist during the procedures.

Endodontic treatment is often referred to as root canal treatment/therapy. When there is infection of the dental pulp and the peri-radicular tissues surrounding the root of the tooth, endodontic treatment is an effective mean to save the tooth, that would otherwise have to be extracted. Participants will learn what are the stages in the endodontic treatment and what are the instruments and materials to prepare for the various stages.

Dental surgical procedures are performed under aseptic protocol. Participants will learn what is infection control and what is the standard protocol in achieving aseptical operatory environment. Participants will also learn the specialized surgical instruments used during the surgery.

There are different types of medications that are used for different purposes. This module will cover some of the common medications prescribed for dental procedures. Participants will also learn how to identify drug allergy remark in patient's record, how to dispense the medications and what instructions to give to the patients.
