Synopsis

The intermediate course is for dental assistants who have already attended Basic Certificate in Dental Assisting. Upon completion of this 2-day course, dental assistants will be able to understand the fundamental dental assisting skills in prosthodontic, aligners, root canal treatment and surgeries.

The course will cover 8 subjects/modules as follows:

1. Alginate mixing and casting
2. Fixed prosthodontics (crown & bridge) procedures
3. Removable prosthodontics (denture) procedures
4. Orthodontic aligner (including intra-oral scanning)
5. Rubber Dam application
6. Endodontics (root-canal treatment)
7. Minor oral surgery
8. Pharmarcy

 

Average teacher-student ratio: 1 : 20 (for lecture), 1 : 4 (for clinical supervision)

 

After each module, students will be assessed on both their theoretical knowledge and practical expertise (where applicable).
