ABOUT THIS COURSE


The course will cover 9 subjects/modules as follows:


  1. Patient Management & Ethics in Dentistry
  2. Orthodontics
  3. Implant Dentistry
  4. Endodontics
  5. Prosthodontics / Restorative Dentistry
  6. CAD CAM & Digital Dentistry
  7. Periodontics
  8. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  9. Laser Dentistry

The course delivery includes lectures, hands-on instructions using study models, and treating patients under instructor supervision.

Course period: October 2019 – September 2021 (Part-Time)


>Average teacher-student ratio: 1 : 20 (for lecture), 1 : 2 - 3 (for clinical supervision)


After each module, students will be assessed on both their theoretical knowledge and practical expertise (where applicable). The assessment is in the form of:


  1. Written Examination
  2. Oral Examination
  3. Hands-on and clinical supervision

ADMISSION CRITERIA


Course entry requirement(s) Local Students

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
  • GCE O Level English C6 and above.
  • Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Applicant is required to meet English language Proficiency requirement.
  • Candidates with minimum 1 to 2 years of work experience will be preferred. However, this is not compulsory.

The orthodontic training programme is designed with emphasis on the ability of the dentist to incorporate orthodontics into their daily practice. Participants will learn case selection and how to treatment plan to achieve their treatment goals.

Implant training programme is an introductory course for general dentists to do simple to advance implant therapy. The course consist of didactic sessions, hands-on training as well as chair-side live surgeries performed by the candidates under the supervision of the trainers.
